Premise: The Doctor, Sarah and Harry arrive on Earth which is now a desolate wilderness. They discover a group of stranded GalSec colonists lured there by a fake distress call.
Notes: The entire story was shot on location at Dartmoor, a first for the series. Kevin Lindsay returned to play Styre after playing another Sontaran, Linx, in The Time Warrior. Because of his heart condition, a new lighter Sontaran costume was made for him. During the making of this story, Tom Baker broke his collar bone and while he was able to continue on with filming, he wasn't able to engage in the climatic fight scene so stunt man Terry Walsh doubled for him.
Verdict: The basic premise of the story may make no sense, but the shorter format and a chillingly sadistic Styre means that is is easily able to get off the ground. It's just a shame we couldn't get more of him in the first part 7/10
